Dolly Parton has revealed she will not be a part of the upcoming Hannah Montana movie.

Parton – who recurring role as Aunt Dolly on the TV show – says that she was originally asked by producers to be in the film, but that her part was ultimately excluded from the Disney production, which is due to hit theaters in April.

“I’m not in the movie,” she said. “I wish I had been. I said I would love to! I assumed that they were gonna be writing me a part.”

Dolly, 63, says starring alongside Miley Cyrus on Hannah Montana has introduced her to a whole new audience, and has even inspired her to blog on her website:

“I feel like I came from the dark ages into the light ages. When I first started out, we didn’t even have electricity. I was singing on TV before we even owned one. Now here I am in this high tech world. I don’t even know half of what the stuff means. But I’m on it.”
