Robert Pattinson: 'I Wanted to Rid Myself of Fat'

March 5, 2009 by dino

Robert Pattinson put in time at the gym while filming Twilight – because he wanted to get rid of all his fat.

The actor plays vampire Edward Cullen in the movie, a character Pattinson says is “meant to have this amazing body”.

So to get himself in to shape for the part, Robert admits he followed a strict exercise regime – but he didn’t just want to end up with a six pack.

He says, “I did go to the gym for the movie in the end. I did it for a different reason. I didn’t just want to have a six pack. I wanted to have no fat at all.”

“I don’t see myself as gorgeous,” he adds. “I put off doing the audition for months because of that. I read the book and I thought, well, there is no point in going in. I thought that the whole point of the part was just to be a purely physical performance. Like a modeling job.

“And I thought, I’m not going to go to the gym for one thing and so I’m already ruled out because he’s meant to have this amazing body too.”

Pattinson reprises his role alongside Kristen Stewart & Taylor Lautner in Twilight sequel New Moon, which hits theaters later this year.

well i think that he really did not need to do the gym he is amazing just being rob flaws and all that is why we love him cause he is not trying to be the perfect person but i am glad that he wanted to make the movie the best it could be so he tryed to be edward but he made a huge sacrifice he gave up cheese burgers for twilight.

im glad to see that atleast one person in hollywood isn’t all caught up in the glam and bright lights that envelope most who enter. Rob played his part, Edward Cullen, to perfection with stellar performances from Kristen Stewart and many other supporting cast mates. Can’t wait for new moon when we really get into the heart of this dark, depressing, yet altruisitically sereal love story

He did give up In-N-Out’s double-doubles, he said it in a interview that he just loves them! Oooo! I hope NM is dark, gloomy, and just dreadful! Not the movie itself, but surrounding Bella with this “hole” in her heart…November. *sigh*
