SAVANNAH Guthrie is battling painful migraines while settling into her new spot on the couch for the NBC morning program.
According to New York Post gossip column Page Six, Guthrie — who earlier this month replaced Ann Curry as Matt Lauer‘s co-host — needs to see a doctor several times a week and wear dark glasses to alleviate pressure on her eyes.
“She goes to a doctor two days a week for treatment of the migraines, and is required to wear dark glasses when she’s not on set,” a source said.
“The pressure of taking over after Ann’s execution is taking its toll.
“Savannah does have migraine. She’s had them for years. They are not triggered by anything particular. If she is indeed getting them, she’s completely capable of working through them.
“You would never been able to know anything was wrong by watching her at work.”
Recent reports claimed Matt doesn’t want Savannah being taller than him, which his why she’s been wearing low-riders.
“Poor Savannah – she loves wearing high heels, and Matt didn’t mind that when she substituted in the past, but he’s not happy with her height now that she’s standing beside him every day,” a source said.
“Matt’s barely 5-feet-11, while Savannah is over 6 feet in heels.
“Savannah’s aware of Matt’s sensitivity, so she agreed to wear low heels – for now, anyway!”
