Jodie Foster Takes to The Internet and Stands up For Kristen Stewart

JODIE Foster has spoken out to defend Kristen Stewart in the wake of her cheating scandal.

The actress — who starred alongside a young Kristen in 2002′s Panic Room — took to The Daily Beast website to stand up for the Twilight star, blasting the media for scrutinizing her every move since she publicly apologized for having a fling with married director Rupert Sanders.

“If I were a young actor or actress starting my career today in the new era of social media and its sanctioned hunting season, would I survive?” Jodie wrote in a blog.

“Would I drown myself in drugs, sex, and parties? Would I be lost?

“I’ve said it before and I will say it again: if I were a young actor today I would quit before I started. If I had to grow up in this media culture, I don’t think I could survive it emotionally. I would only hope that someone who loved me, really loved me, would put their arm around me and lead me away to safety.”

Recent reports revealed Jodie has reached out to Kristen.

“As soon as she heard the news, Jodie contacted Kristen to offer her support,” a source said.

“They have been close friends since they starred opposite each other in the 2002 movie Panic Room, and Jodie is a mother-like figure to her.

“Jodie told Kristen to take no notice of the media bashing and said if she wanted to cry her heart out to her she’s always available.

“Jodie loved Rob and is disappointed with Kristen for cheating on him. However, she knows at 22, she’s still very young and unfortunately people make mistakes in life. She thinks Kristen will learn from this and will only grow into a more mature person because of it.

“She certainly has no intention of turning her back on Kristen during such a difficult period in her life.”

    good for you. We all make mistakes and in this world of immediate gratification and need to know there is no place for someone to hide their mistakes. People need to truly look at themselves before making judgements on others.

    Always been a fan of Jodie Foster and loved her bluntness/truths because seriously some people have WAY too much times on their damn hands hating on someone when their OWN CRAPS STINKS ALL OVER TOO. Same way some still hating on Angelina years later can’t get over it but make one wonder if the haters have a life.

    Let’s see Jodie Foster hasn’t been in a good movie since 91; which coincidentally is the only movie she’s really known for, “Silence of the Lambs.” And rather than privately give her support to Kristen she has to take it to the media. Sounds like a actress with a dwindling career who’s trying to cash in on the scandal.

    Jodie foster is someone who lives, and has always lived , in the REAL world, not in some fantasy bubble.She recognizes human error, and leaves it with what it is, a mistake, costly, yes, but a mistake by a wonderful girl!
