Ok, folks we have been saying this since the script was done. The reviews are starting to pour in from top critics, for the upcoming juggernaut blockbuster of the summer Captain America: Civil War at a whopping 100% positive!
Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in major collateral damage and loss of life, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team (basically putting the heroes on a short leash). The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps-one led by Steve Rogers (Captain America) and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s (Iron Man) surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.
Here is just a few of the most recently posted reviews from some of the people lucky enough to have screened the film thus far:
USA Today – Brian Truitt: “Tear away the powers, abilities and egos, though, and the third Captain America movie is at its core a deep exploration of friendship and family and what sacrifices should be made to hold onto both.” Full Review
The Wrap – Dave White: “Directors Anthony and Joe Russo continue to mine their experience with TV comedies, juggling all the members of their superhero family with a playful touch that both informs character interaction and delivers vital breathing room in between battles.” Full Review
Hollywood Reporter – Sheri Linden: “Call it “civil war” or call it brand extension; call it a “cinematic universe” or a corporate behemoth – the latest Marvel extravaganza furthers the studio’s cross-pollination of action franchises in a way that’s sure to satisfy devotees.” Full Review
