One of our favorites Kurt Russell has officially landed the father gig for the next Guardians of the Galaxy and fans of the Marvel film could not be more happy with having Snake Plissken join the franchise.
Director James Gunn confirmed the rumors today saying: “We are super excited that Kurt has agreed to join our crew and we all know he will be a fine addition. We have also just recently locked down Elizabeth Debicki, Pom Klementieff and Chris Sullivan that will also have special roles to play in Vol 2. Kevin Feige has been pivotal in the production and story line for this next segment that is sure to keep our comic book fans proud.” James went on to say that “Kurt’s role as the father to Chris Pratt’s Starlord character will be a major one.”
Showbiz Spy reached out to our man Kurt and got the following… Kurt: “Oh man, I am so excited to be a part of this project. I talked with Wyatt before the deal was inked and he agreed that it would be awesome as he follows the comic book scene. James is a genius director and I have no doubt that he will be taking the series to new heights and I am just proud to be a part of that, you know… it just really feels like something special.”
The movies principal photography began at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta on Wednesday and Kevin Feige is producing with James writing the latest draft. The movie is set to hit the box office on May 5, 2017.
